We all love walking our dogs, it should give them the essential values of variety, exploration, positive stimulation, socialisation and exercise. An enjoyable walk is both for you and the dog, visiting new places, exploring and discovering new places make for a fulfilling experience for all. We are privileged to live in bountiful and varied countryside in Devon where we can engage with nature and our environment, ranging from rural walks, moorland, coastline and permitted beach walks.
Take a relaxed fulfilling approach to your walk for both of you, treat yourself to the overall enjoyment of your outing with some treats for you and your dog. We have ventured many locations across Devon and in Cornwall with an abundance of rewarding food & drink locations and destinations.
After a good walk you may want to sit down and have a coffee, cream tea, snack or a meal, remember to always bring a familiar comfy dog mat or blanket so your dog can feel relaxed and comfortable under the table or nearby.
One of my favourite destinations where I can amble with my dog or with friends and their dogs is around the farmlands with magnificent views towards the Exe Estuary, wetlands nature reserves and towards the Haldon Hills beyond is at Darts Farm.
With designated dog walks, great views, shaded dog car parking bays and great after walk with its outstanding speciality food outlets and their produce, it is an inspiring and fulfilling destination experience. Dogs are welcome on the farm walk, some fields and play area, but always keep your dog under control. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar seating area Cow & Cacao, The Terrace Bar and outdoors in the Yard Restaurant Courtyard where you can catch up for a post walk coffee or delightful range of delicacies from the eateries.
However they are unable to allow dogs in the food hall and internal restaurant areas.
If in doubt please do ask the helpful staff always on hand.

TIPS
Refreshments needed for you and your dog, to check if livestock may cross your path, or to plan in areas where your dog can enjoy some off-lead time.
Teaching your dog to settle on a specific mat or blanket can also be good practice for calmly relaxing during human mealtimes – you can then take this with you when you go out.
