Lily is a 6 year old Cockerpoo and her owners Laura and Richard contacted me at their wits end with the problem of Lily’s continuous barking at night.
This barking behaviour had been going on for over 2 years!! They had spoken to various vets, trainers and behaviourist and no one seemed to be able to ‘shed some light’ onto what was going on and why this should be happening to them and their dog. Laura and Richard were becoming so desperate now, that they were thinking that they might have to re-home Lily, as not only were they tired, their children were not sleeping at night and they were getting complaints from the neighbours. And this was something they really didn’t want to do.
Bedtime at this house was becoming a nightmare for everyone!!
A home visit was made to listen, observe and advise on Lily’s barking behaviour, setting up a training plan / suggestions.
As always it’s lovely to receive progress updates ….
Dear Tricia. Thank you so much for transforming our lives back to normality again. I do not know how much longer we could have continued with this night time barking behaviour of Lily’s. We just felt so tired and miserable and dreaded going to bed at night, never knowing how soon the barking would start up and whether we should go down to Lily, or try and ignore the barking, which to be honest was impossible. Now knowing this behaviour is driven by a phobia at some stage has given us the confidence and a strategy to start addressing the problem and the results have been amazing!!
Sleep at last….. thank you sooo much. Zzz!
